Hello, and welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimists,
This beer was created as a one-off for the annual music and beer festival held at the Tiny Rebel brewery, known as ‘Rebel Fest’. Due to popular demand, it is now available in a can so everyone can enjoy it.
In a market packed with NEIPAs it can be difficult to stand out, this one tries to so by including lemon puree. Now that is quite a bold move because lemon is a flavour that can easily overpower.

- Name : 505 Lemon Drop Martini
- Brewery: Tiny Rebel, Newport, Wales
- Hops : Not specified
- Grain : Malted barley, malted wheat and oats
- Aroma : Some citrus scents but also a hint of cut wet grass
- Appearance : Golden, opaque with a white head
- Body : Full bodied, medium carbonated with a little head retention
- Taste : A burst of fruit to start, predominantly tropical but then with a little citrus sharpness. Dry finish but oddly with some sweetness on the palate in the aftertaste
- Dietary restrictions : Allergens highlighted and suitable for vegetarians
This has all the fresh, juicy fruitiness you would expect with a NEIPA. Quite soft and smooth on the palate without any harsh bitterness.
Adding lemon adds to the complexity but it is used sparingly so is subtle rather than overpowering. A very nice beer that has a bit of oomph but remains easy drinking.
Peter’s overall rating: 3.8/ 5.0
