Welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimists!
We cant possibly drink out every night in Singapore, so today we are tasting a couple of bottles & cans that we picked up on Orchard Road.
Unfortunately the store we went in didn’t have any Singapore beers, but it did have some nice looking Japanese imports so lets take a look at one of those!

- Name: Yuzu Ale, Agra Craft
- Brewery: Wakayama Brewery
- Hops: N/A
- Grain: N/A
- Aroma : Strong scent of Yuzu, with a slight hop backing
- Appearance : Light golden colour, slight haze with a tight white head when poured.
- Body : Light bodied, Medium to well carbonated, but with not much in the way of head retention.
- Taste: Sharp taste of Yuzu with a lingering bitterness however the underlying beer is pretty standard.
This was refreshing with a nice level of bitterness cutting through which was a nice needed kick in the Singapore heat.
I’m not sure if the heat made this one better than it was, but until I manage to get one of these in the UK I wont be able to test the theory, so until then it gets a 3.2!
Sam’s overall rating: 3.2/ 5.0
