Hello, and welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimists,
This beer was from a box of 10 assorted Oktoberfest beers from Bavaria. This one is brewed specially for the Pichelsteiner Festival.

- Name : Pichelsteiner Festbier
- Brewery: Privatbrauerei J.B. Falter, Regen, Germany
- Hops : Not specified
- Grain : Malted barley
- Aroma : Fesh, greenish, malty with hints of spice
- Appearance : Golden, clear and produced a thin white head
- Body : Medium to full bodied, very well carbonated and there was some head retention
- Taste : Malt to the fore, some sweetness and a smooth finish with a touch of spicy warmth. Very lightly hopped with little bitterness
- Dietary restrictions : Allergens highlighted
This is very much a festbier, a straightforward quaffable beer albeit at a punchy ABV. Could see myself putting a few of these away. Vastly superior to mainstream UK lager
It was very well carbonated so was a little on the gassy side for me.
Peter’s overall rating: 3.5/ 5.0
