Welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimists!
Today we are having another look at a beer in the wild this time its a stout from Harrogate Brewing Co.
I have high hopes for this one, and I’ve found myself on a bit of a dark kick again recently!

- Name: Gold Top Stout
- Brewery: Harrogate Brewing Co
- Hops: N/A
- Grain: N/A
- Aroma : Strong nose of chocolate with a vanilla backing.
- Appearance : Dark in appearance with a tight white head when poured.
- Body : Medium bodied, good level of carbonation with a cracking head retention.
- Taste: A deep creamy malty mouthful followed by a wash of chocolate and a cheeky tang towards the finish.
Now this is a cracking pint, malty, chocolatey and lashings vanilla, but not overly sweet. Also despite the strong flavours it’s still on the traditional spectrum and not 100% craft which in my opinion is to its credit.
As I live in the Leeds area, I will keep my eyes open for this one again.
