Hello and welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimists,
Here we are again with another beer from modern sour kings Vault City, This time the beer is called Capri Crush and is described as; A session sour for Summer, inspired by the beautiful island of Capri. This super crushable fruited sour beer was conditioned on Italian lemon juice, blood orange and guava.
This sounds like it is going to be rather nice and furthermore it is described as Refreshing, like a week off in the sun. Now we all want one of those, right. Here’s hoping that we will want another can of this as much as our week off!

1.1. Name : Capri Crush
2. Brewery: Vault City, Edinburgh
3. Hops : Not stated
4. Grain : Barley, oats & yeast
5. Aroma : Has an abundance of fruit aromas with lemon, berries and guava on the nose. This is backed by aromas of sherbert that gives a good balance of soft and zesty.
6. Appearance : Pours a hazy pink colour with a fluffy two finger white head
7. Body : Medium body with a nice, refreshing mouthfeel
8. Taste : As soon as the beer hits the palate you are met with the zesty sherbert sourness that makes the lips pucker. Cleverly this soon makes way to the excellent fruity flavour profile that bounces around the mouth making you crave more, before leaving a lingering, yet very pleasant sourness.
9. Allergens: Contains gluten
Refreshing, like a week off in the sun? Most definitely! This is yet another well produced beer from Vault City that drinks incredibly well and makes you want a second as soon as your can is finished.
The aroma gives a good clue as to what to expect from the taste with the citrus fruit/sherbert notes present that never dominate as the guava adds great balance. This makes Capri Crush very moreish and an all-round solid beer that I for one would highly recommend, not just for summer, but all year round.
Our overall rating: 3.9/ 5.0
