Determined not to let the rain dampen our spirits, we marched from Poppleton Station with gusto toward our next destination: The White Horse. Inside, we were met with the warm glow of familiar hand pumps—Timothy Taylors, of course—so it was Boltmaker all round. The telly was showing the Black and Whites (Hull FC) somehow pulling off a shock 32–12 win away at Wigan. As a Robins fan, I’ve got to say—cheers, lads, that’s a favour we’ll gladly take!

Meanwhile, the dartboard quickly became the centre of attention as the group took turns missing the mark (definitely not being shown up by young Owen, but that’s a story for another day…).

but what of the Boltmaker?

Name: Boltmaker
- Name : Landlord (5.2% ABV)
- Brewery: Timothy Taylor
- Appearance : Clear dark amber tipple with a good white head when poured.
- Aroma: Very strong hoppy aroma with a touch of citrus
- Body : Reasonably bodied, with a cracking flow to it decent level of carbonation too.
- Taste : Mouth-watering Hops, not super flavourful but morish which can be quite dangers for a 5.2% beer
Sam’s overall rating: 3.7/ 5.0
