Roosters Brewing Co – London Thunder Classic Porter (4.2% ABV) #LondonThunder

Hi there fellow beer lovers,

Billed as a ‘classic porter’, this is an original London style porter, harking back to its roots, without any flavour additives. So much is to be expected from the flavour profile of the malts used.

  5. Aroma : Malty with some chocolate and a touch of caramel
  6. Appearance : A rich dark brown hue, clear with a cream coloured head
  7. Body : Medium bodied, medium carbonated but with little head retention
  8. Taste : An immediate roasted malt hit with just a touch of sweetness. This is followed by some chocolate but without becoming bitter. Fairly strong malty aftertaste

A fine standard porter, that ticks all the necessary boxes. The malt gives some complexity to the flavour profile, proving that this style of beer, like mild, can still be interesting. A beer I would happily drink again (and indeed I have had a few.)

Not a beer to be over chilled as I found when it is too cold some of the complexity of the malts is lost.
