Hello Beer lovers, and welcome back to another review here at TEH.
When you think of the brewery Siren, one of the first beers that you think of is their multi award winning stout Broken Dream which has previously won the accolade of Champion Beer of Britain, amongst others.
It will come as no surprise that due to its success their has been many incarnations of this popular beer and in this review we are taking a look at the imperial double milk nitro version called Shattered Dream, I can hardly wait!

2. Brewery: Siren Craft Brew LTD (Finchampstead, Berkshire)
3. Hops : Not stated
4. Grain : Barley and oats with the addition of lactose and vanilla
5. Aroma : This has an incredible nose with aromas of chocolate, caramel, vanilla, espresso and a touch of milky sweetness.
6. Appearance : Pours deep black with a fluffy tan coloured head, when pouring this requires a hard and fast pour.
7. Body : Lovely full body with a luxurious creamy mouthfeel.
8. Taste : Everything in the aroma translates well on the taste with the espresso coming more to the fore than it did on the nose. This helps to balance out the sweeter notes to create a beautiful flavoured and balanced beer.
I will openly admit that I have always enjoyed the various incarnations of the Broken Dream series, however I have to say that Shattered Dream takes things to another level, not just in the abv, but the overall quality and flavour…..this is one tremendous beer!
With each mouthful I found myself taking in the wonderful aroma first before the beer hit the palate then it just made me want to close my eyes and take in every beautiful flavour that this has to offer. This is one of those beers that I just did not want to end as I was drinking and if I do not come across it again then it will certainly live long in the memory, if I do find it I will certainly be picking up more or ordering it in a pub that is for sure!
