Tonight, our fearless reviewer Peter takes the lantern in hand, ready to face whatever lurks within the next can…
Hi, Spectral Beer Fans! This is a beer brewed with a 2025 movie tie in. Apparently 28 years later is the third movie in a series, following on from 28 days later (from 2002) and 28 weeks later (from 2007), none of which I have seen. It seems it is a post-apocalyptic zombie movie, but why would I go to the cinema to experience that when I see it by taking a trip to the MKM to watch Hull FC play (only joking).
We don’t do movie reviews on here, but we do review all kinds of beers, be they for zombies or even dogs…

This is a beer I should enjoy and wanted to try but was left a little underwhelmed. There was nothing wrong with it and that is part of the problem. If it had been terrible, I would have thought you can’t win them all, but it was just OK, a little meh. Perhaps it was a case of over anticipation or something, this is a favourite brewery of mine and their beers are usually excellent. Others may love it, that is the beauty of beer tasting.
It’s a perfectly acceptable beer, a little lightweight to be a true IPA, but the flavour died quickly for me. The blood orange flavour was there (puree is added during brewing) but is far from overpowering. Not entirely sure where the liqueur in the name translates in the flavour, it certainly didn’t have the fortified edge of some stronger brews.
Peter’s Jack ‘O Rating is: 3.5/ 5.0
