Campervan X Drop Project : Alpine Tour, Grapefruit & Mandarin (2.2% ABV)

Welcome back!

For this part of our low ABV series, Kayla is taking the wheel as we head into the Campervan x Drop Project Alpine Tour.

This collaboration brings together two breweries well known for thoughtful, flavour-driven beers, and it offers a chance to see how that approach translates within the lower alcohol space.

As always, the focus remains on balance, drinkability and overall quality, with Kayla leading us through the range and sharing her impressions along the way.

Let’s get started.

Apline Tour- Radler

Name: Alpine Tour

  1. Brewery: Campervan X Drop Project
  2. Aroma : Sweet and fruity on the nose, a tinge of astringency which i was not expecting from a Radler.
  3. Appearance : Translucent apricot in colour with a thin film head when poured but this was short lived.
  4. Body : I found this one to be quite thin, Fairly astringent, with a mild level of carbonation
  5. Taste : Strong fruity taste up front but quickly dissipates and becomes quite watery, it was very refreshing but lacked the sweetness and the usual long fruity draw that ive become used to when drinking the slightly stronger Radlers of last summer.

Overall, this one didn’t quite land where it promised. While it was undeniably refreshing and easy to drink, it lacked the body, sweetness and lingering fruit character that I have come to expect from a good Radler. The initial burst of fruit faded too quickly, leaving a thinner, more astringent finish than anticipated, and as a result it felt a little underwhelming.

Perfectly serviceable on a hot day, but compared to some of the fuller, more satisfying Radlers enjoyed last summer, this collaboration didn’t quite hit the same notes.

Our overall rating: 2.7/ 5.0
