Brulo – 5 Fruit Gose- 0.0%

Hi there fellow beer lovers,

We are back again with another Low BAV offering.

Today Kayla is back at the helm for this next review as we turn our attention to Brulo’s 5 Fruit Gose. Known for pushing flavour boundaries within the low and no alcohol space, Brulo have built a reputation for beers that aim to deliver depth and balance without relying on alcohol to do the heavy lifting.

Let’s see how this one shapes up in the glass.

Name: 5 Fruit Gose

  1. Brewery: Brulo
  2. Aroma :  Upfront Apricot / Nectarine its a little jammy with a hit of astringency too ( sweet and soured fruits)
  3. Appearance :  This one has the appearance of cloudy apple juice, it had no head when poured.
  4. Body : Medium bodied, moderate carbonation but no head.
  5. Taste : Apricot / Nectarine flavour, mildly sour & salty not the usual Kapow! and face scrunching lip smacking sourness ive experienced with previous Gose beers. This one again is easy drinking, inoffensive and very juicy.

Overall, this was another beer that didn’t quite live up to expectations. While it was easy drinking, juicy and perfectly inoffensive, it lacked the vibrancy and sharp character I was hoping for from a Gose.

The fruit flavours were pleasant enough but never really developed, and the sourness remained restrained throughout, meaning it missed that distinctive lift and punch the style is known for.

A competent low alcohol beer, but one that ultimately felt a little muted when compared to stronger examples of the style.

Our overall rating: 3.2/ 5.0
