Hi there fellow beer lovers,
Kayla is back with the next entry in our low ABV series, this time pouring Brulo’s King for a Day (0.5% ABV).
With a name like that, there’s an expectation of something bold and memorable and in the low alcohol world, that’s a tall order

Name: King for a day
- Brewery: Brulo
- Aroma : Fruity fragrance of Mango and grapefruit with a lashing of vanilla at the end
- Appearance : Transparent straw colour with an open white frothy head when poured.
- Body : Moderate carbonation with a medium body and good head retention
- Taste : Very fruity upfront with a wash of vanilla toward the end, giving it a weirdly coconut like finish given its tropical tones.
Overall, I found King for a Day to be a pleasant and well-constructed low ABV option. From the aroma to the unexpected coconut-like twist that complements the tropical tones rather than overpowering them.
It’s not the most intense beer, but as a light, easy-drinking low ABV option it performs well and has a distinctive flavour profile that sets it apart.
Our overall rating: 3.5 / 5.0
