Below Brew – Heaven and Helles Gluten Free Helles Lager (0.5% ABV) #Helles

We like a good (i.e. bad) pun and this beer has certainly got one going for it. There is also a two headed Japanese style tiger on the label which fits in with my local football side Hull City. What will be the outcome, will I be in heaven or hell, or just be ‘mauled by The Tigers’.

This was a slightly odd one and I can see some drinkers liking it, but it was just not for me. Having tried several non-alcoholic beers, I’m tending to appreciate the IPAs much more than lagers. This was a reasonable enough beer but on a blind tasting I would never have guessed it was a Helles.

Certainly worth sampling, but there are others I would choose in preference.
