Heaps Normal: Another Lager (<0.5% ABV)

Hi there fellow beer lovers,

Sam is back with something a little outside his usual comfort zone, Lager.
(Sam: Ugh.. not again!..).

Heaps Normal’s Another Lager might be alcohol-free and lager by name, but as ever, the real question is what it delivers once it hits the glass.

Name: Another Lager

  1. Brewery: Heaps Normal
  2. Aroma : Straw and Wheat smell with a earthy undertone.
  3. Appearance : Very clear copper Ale w/ open white head when poured.
  4. Body : Light bodied, with a good level of carbonation but zero head retention.
  5. Taste : This one was quite bready, very bitter with a burn caramel like taste. It was weirdly nostalgic, but I cant quite put my finger on why.

Despite this being a lager, aka my least favourite type of tipple, and AF, this one had a lot of flavour, it was very similar to the classic gig Red Stripe and Duff that we have previously covered here.

If you gave me this one in a glass, or a plastic cup at a gig, I wouldn’t be able to tell you it was AF, and that is pretty wild. they should start selling it at Gig spaces, because honestly this is a brilliant AF alternative.

If you see one, grab one and let me know if you agree?

Sam’s overall rating: 3.2/ 5.0
