Rooster’s Brewing Co – Capability Brown Best Bitter (4.0% ABV)

Hello fellow beer lovers.

Today I am reviewing a ‘brown beer’. Yes, in this world of highly hopped IPAs, strong lagers and wildly flavoured sours it is possible to find ‘boring’ traditional bitter. As someone who was weaned on the stuff I’m pleased to see it. Palates and tastes may change but there must still be a staple for the ‘working man’ of Yorkshire albeit not one that works in a coal mine or steel mill. It brings a tear to my eye; we are almost drinking history…

Like Ronseal say, it does what it says on the can (note: we do not recommend drinking Ronseal.) A traditional style bitter that doesn’t set out to be anything different. The kind of beer that was once drunk by the gallon.

I purchased more than one can and so will sample later at cellar temperature as I think straight from the fridge which is as I tried this at may well be a little bit too cold.
