Redwillow – Trappless English Tripel (7.6% ABV)

Hi there fellow beer lovers,

Coddy turns his attention to Redwillow Brewery’s Trappless English Tripel (7.6% ABV). Bold, strong, and ambitious, this beer promises a flavour-packed experience, but not every promise is kept.

Will it impress, or is this one better left on the shelf? Let’s find out.

Name: Trappless English Tripel

  1. Brewery:  Redwillow Brewery
  2. Aroma :  Very malty on the nose with an unusual banana like scent.
  3. Appearance : Clear, golden with an open head when pored… very different to how the Dubbel looked
  4. Body : Thin, Mid carbonation, poor head retention and very very dry.
  5. Taste : The best taste I can attribute this too is a stale lager, there is no trace of the banana scent, and is very dry and quite claggy.

This has no signs of being 7.6% and could potentially be quite dangerous to drink, the stale aftertaste is very off putting to me, and like Sam I am not a lager drinker so it really doesn’t float my boat.

Its best left on the shelf in my opinion, and pick up the Dubbel instead!
