Amity Brew Co – Festoon, Helles Lager 4.6%

Hi there fellow beer lovers,

Today we are looking at one of Amity Brew Co’s Helles Lager, Festoon.

1. Name : Festoon
2. Brewery: Amity Brew Co
3. Aroma : quite sweet and fruity, with heavy notes of wheat
4. Appearance : Cloudy Golden Yellow, with a thin white film of a head
5. Body : Medium to Heavy, and well carbonated
6. Taste : Strong intial taste of citrus and hops which quickly pulls into a toasted wheat treat.

Now this, this one was unexpected. It tasted far more like a wheat beer than a traditional lager, I would even go as far as to say that its taste reminded me of Riveta’s, which while quite shocking and unusual was not an unpleasent experience. Myself not being a big lager drinker, this is certainly something I would drink again, but for the more traditional lager drinker, im not so sure they would approve.
