Beavertown – 8 Ball Rye, IPA (ABV 6.2%)

Hi there fellow beer lovers,

Today we are looking at one of a few special brews created to celebrate the brewery’s Birthday. This one is their Rye IPA.

  1. Name: 8 Ball Rye IPA
  2. Brewery: Beavertown
  3. Aroma : Burnt glazed pineapple with a hint of breadyness
  4. Appearance : Clear, caramel colour, with a very thin head.
  5. Body :  Medium bodied, well carbonated with no head retention
  6. Taste : Slightly smoked burnt caramel with a hint of citrus followed by a malty bready finish.

This was a very interesting tipple, it had a real depth for it and an unusual flavor. I honestly can’t say I’ve seen this one before or since, but if I saw it in a pub id be very tempted to pick up a pint and try the draught.

Our overall rating: 3.4/ 5.0
