Hi there fellow beer lovers,
Today we are looking at another orange special that Peter managed to procure from the shelves of the supermarket. I was looking forward to this one after the last one was such a pleasant surprise.

- Name: Citrus City, Orange Pale Ale
- Brewery: Down South Brewing
- Aroma : Very strong scent of orange, followed by a sweet almost lemonade like smell
- Appearance : Clear pale straw coloured, very thin tight white head.
- Body : thin bodied, well carbonated but had poor head retention
- Taste : Bitter shandy with an orange top.
This one reeked of nostalgia for me, minus the orange twist. As a teen, my grandfather would often make me a bitter shandy, or we would sneak off to the mill in Hull and id have a bitter shandy in a quiet corner of the establishment while he looked over the racing form, over a pint of best.
It was crisp and refreshing, and very light considering the 6% ABV, definitely a summer drink, it’s definitely not the best beer in the world, but it has its place, another pleasant surprise but I would be disappointed in this if I was expecting a more punchy zesty pale.
