Hi there fellow beer lovers,
Welcome back to the Eternal Hoptimists.
Today John is continuing his sour reign as the sour king and is checking out a tropical sour by the British made Hongkong brewery Gwei-lo and the guys at Brew York.

- Name: Totally Tropical Sour
- Brewery: Gwei-lo X Brew York
- Aroma: Strong Tropical fruit aroma
- Appearance: Yellow Mango juice, with a thin frothy white head.
- Body: Light bodied, quite thin, low carbonation and zero head retention.
- Taste: Long draw of Guava and Coconut, but very little else, and very mild on the sour kick.
This one claims to be a tropical fruit and nut cocktail, however I feel it failed to quite deliver on its promise. I was quite disappointed with this one, which is a shame as Gwei-lo are usually a cracking pint. However, at 6.5% it carries a punch, though as with most sours this is well hidden and there is no harshness, but for overall strength of flavour it was poor.
Our overall rating: 3.1/ 5.0
