TEH Ale Train 2025 – All Aboard – Fifth and final Stop: Hornbeam Park

Another Stop, another Business and retail park… except this one… has a Pyramid!

But we had to leave the mystery of what lies within that for another time because we had just one place left to visit, and that is Roosters Brewing Co.

Once inside we were greeted by a faux seaside photo op.. so it had to be taken! and then…. lots and lots of potential pours!

The Taproom itself offers a wide selection of Rooster’s beers for you to enjoy, in fact there are sixteen different beers are available to enjoy across cask and keg.

As we have had quite a few already, I’m not sure we will manage sixteen, but after I visit the pop up Greek place that’s in their rotating kitchen… i will see what I can do!

Name: 24 Seven, Session IPA 4.7%

  1. Brewery:  Roosters Brewing Co
  2. Aroma : A strong scent of hop at the front backed by a lime citrus
  3. Appearance :  Clear Amber in colour with a thick white head when poured.
  4. Body :  Medium to light bodied, decent carbonation with okay head retention
  5. Taste : Nice and refreshing, not too hoppy, with a nice wash of citrus, definitely another easy drinker.

Another Easy drinking Session, 11/10 would have this again, its light and broke up my palette for the end of the night, which I feel was much needed especially after a garlicy chicken souvlaki.

Our overall rating: 4/ 5.0

Name: Belgian Beer

  1. Brewery: Gueuze Tilquin
  2. Aroma :  Lemon, candy sourness
  3. Appearance : Golden, slight haze to it with no head.
  4. Body :  Thin but complex, and a little acidic.
  5. Taste : Tart Lemon, with a slightly earthy after taste.

This really makes your mouth water, it certainly isn’t pulling any punches. what a way to end the night, on a beer akin to that of a Lemon Sorbet.

  1. Brewery: Roosters Brewing Co

  5. Taste :  Vanilla, chocolate, and dark fruit culminating into a warming elixir that spreads through your chest and cures what ales you.

another absolute corker of a pint, definitely more a Goodnight Dimitri at this stage in the game, but I am here for it!

As the final pints were poured and the last laughs shared, our Ale Train adventure has come to a close. Coddy has tired feet (which bares well for his 3 peaks hike in 2 months, good luck buddy!), Jonno and Lee are… drunk, Jordan and Owen are giving us a gun show and the rest of us are ready for bed.

We have had more than a few new favourite brews.

What started as a damp and determined journey quickly turned into a day of discovery, camaraderie, and great beer shared with even better company.

A huge thank you to all the incredible breweries that made this trail so memorable: Harrogate Brewing Co, Roosters Brewing Co, Brew York, and Gorilla Brewing Co each brought their own unique flavour, character, and warmth to the experience.

Until next time, try to drink responsibly and we will be back with some more reviews very soon!
