Looking at the can art, the beer should probably be named 24 Hour Party People, but presumably that is trademarked or something. There are definite nods to the Madchester rave scene and acid house with the yellow ‘smiley’ face. At the same time, it keeps the Dark Revolution vibes as it reveals the skull underneath.Continue reading “Dark Revolution – Party People DDH Pale Ale (5.2% ABV)”

Roosters Brewing Co – California Common West Coast Amber Ale (4.2% ABV) #CaliforniaCommon
Welcome back to The Eternal Hoptimists and our latest review. A beer created in the style of the San Francisco so called ‘steam beer’. It’s an amber ale but fermented with lager yeast that aims to be smooth with only medium bitterness. This beer falls into the easy drinking category, but is far from bland,Continue reading “Roosters Brewing Co – California Common West Coast Amber Ale (4.2% ABV) #CaliforniaCommon”
Tartarus – Gretel (8% ABV)
Welcome back to The Eternal Hoptimists and another beer review. Historically the porter style has always been a firm favourite of mine so when I received a imperial/double porter from the excellent Tartarus Beers, needless to say I was very excited at the prospect. Perhaps my only slight concern would be as to whether theContinue reading “Tartarus – Gretel (8% ABV)”
Wrexham Lager Beer Company Limited – Wrexham Lager Export (5% ABV)
Hello, and welcome to The Eternal Hoptimists, and also Welcome To Wrexham! No, of course we are not reviewing the Disney football documentary featuring Deadpool and the other bloke, that would be just silly! We are in fact taking a look at a beer that does feature in the series, in the form of WrexhamContinue reading “Wrexham Lager Beer Company Limited – Wrexham Lager Export (5% ABV)”
Abbeydale Brewery – Deception (4.1% ABV)
Hello Beer lovers, and welcome back to another review here at TEH. It goes without saying that a high percentage of beer drinkers will have heard of Abbeydale Brewery even if they have not tried their beers, many of which can be found in pubs across the country, in particular their core range. In thisContinue reading “Abbeydale Brewery – Deception (4.1% ABV)”
Tooth & Claw – Squeeze Please (4.3% ABV)
Today we are looking at a rather interesting lemon gose from Tooth & Claw named Squeeze Please that comes in a rather attractive can. For those who may be unaware Tooth & Claw is the craft beer arm of long established Camerons Brewery that are probably best known for their more traditional styles. This oneContinue reading “Tooth & Claw – Squeeze Please (4.3% ABV)”
Hyllie Bryggeri – Black Sheep Black IPL (5.5% ABV) #BlackLager #BlackIPL
Welcome back to the weird and wonderful world of beer. The only IPL I’ve come across is the cricket one so finding this in a remainder box from Beer 52 is something of a curiosity. IPL being Imperial Pale Lager is a new style and here we have a black expression of it. Something thatContinue reading “Hyllie Bryggeri – Black Sheep Black IPL (5.5% ABV) #BlackLager #BlackIPL”
Siren Craft Brew – Party in the Dark Nitro Milk Stout (4.6% ABV) #MilkStout
Welcome back beer lovers. We do love a stout here at Hoptimist Towers and have been impressed with some of the ‘Nitro’ versions that are now available. This one has a modest ABV but promises much in terms of flavour. Once again, this is a recommended ‘fast pour’ style one, with the can held vertically.Continue reading “Siren Craft Brew – Party in the Dark Nitro Milk Stout (4.6% ABV) #MilkStout”
Abbeydale Brewery – Sheffield Stout (4.5% ABV) #Stout
Welcome back beer lovers. The label states ‘A classic stout inspired by our heritage, our location and the history of the city we call home.’ So, in true Yorkshireman’s terms a no-nonsense beer for no nonsense Yorkshire folk… Sounds just my thing. Not had many Abbeydale beers in cans, but their cask beers are usuallyContinue reading “Abbeydale Brewery – Sheffield Stout (4.5% ABV) #Stout”
Fierce Beer X Otherworld Brewing – Sugi (4% ABV)
When I collected my latest beers for review, one in particular stood out as sounding like a very interesting and complex brew. This beer is a collaboration between Fierce Beer and Otherworld Brewing called Sugi which is a Japanese rice lager with cedar wood spirals……told you it sounded interesting and complex! 1. Name : Sugi 2.Continue reading “Fierce Beer X Otherworld Brewing – Sugi (4% ABV)”
