After months of talking about “doing a proper pub crawl by rail again” checking routes, discussing pubs, and pretending this was all very organised, we can finally announce that The Eternal Hoptimists Ale Train 2026 is officially happening on the 13th!
And honestly? We’re ridiculously excited about it.
The plan is beautifully simple.
A full day of pubs, pints, trains, questionable decisions, excellent company, and trying to ensure we get back to the train on time to not get stranded.
This year we’ll be starting over in Ilkley where we have two locations to visit before hopping our way down the line through:
🍺 Burley in Wharfedale
🍺 Menston
🍺 Guiseley
🚂 and finally Home to Leeds
We as usual have a number of different pubs lined up, and a very interesting little treat lined up for Guiseley that we’re keeping relatively under wraps for now…
Remember, this isn’t about ticking beers off Untappd like it’s a spreadsheet.
It’s about proper pubs, good laughs, and finding those nicely balanced, dangerously moorish pints you could happily settle into all afternoon.
