Good Chemistry – Dark Horse Stout (4.5% ABV)

Hi there fellow beer lovers,

Welcome back, fellow beer lovers!

After what feels like an eternity of hop bombs, pastry sours and football-themed beers, it’s finally time to return to my natural habitat. Dark beer.

As someone who’s never been shy about my love of a proper stout, I was more than happy when i stumbled across this one in the wild, and i am more than willing to give this one the attention it deserved.

So, has Dark Horse got what it takes to lead the pack, or will it end up as an also-ran?

Name: Dark Horse

  1. Brewery: Good Chemistry
  2. Aroma : Dried fruit aromas, with fresh coffee beans
  3. Appearance : Black as night with a tight slightly mocha head when poured.
  4. Body : Medium to full bodied, good level of carbonation and decent head retention.
  5. Taste :  Roasted Coffee with a cheeky wash of malted dark chocolate with a bit of fruit. Think a dark fruit & nut, but with Coffee.

Sometimes you don’t need a beer to reinvent the wheel you just need it to do the basics exceptionally well. Dark Horse is exactly that sort of pint.

a Great name, a good beer, and plenty of flavour.. Do we have time for another?

Our overall rating: 4.1/ 5.0
