World Cup Beers 2026 – Funky Fluid : ‘Final Eight’ GELATO Xtreme; Tri Colore, Tropical Macaron Ice Cream Sour(8.0% ABV)

Welcome back, fellow beer lovers!

The tournament has come to its penultimate entry, and Funky Fluid are showing no signs of running out of ideas. Their latest entry is their Tri Colore, Tropical Macaron Ice Cream Sour at an eye-catching 8.0%. Its borrows it’s name from the Italian phrase Tricolore literally meaning “three colours,” a nod to the red, white and blue of the French flag (and more importantly British *wink*.)

So, can Tri Colore score a worldie, or will it be seeing red before the final whistle?

Name: Oranje (8.0% ABV)

  1. Brewery:  Funky Fluid
  2. Aroma : This smelt like a melted Solero, Orange, Citrus and Vanilla.
  3. Appearance :  Opaque orange smoothie, no head when poured, but so thick it didn’t pour it flowed.
  4. Body : Thicc (says 99 on the Can, and it couldn’t be more right, it bearhugged the glass), low carbonation, very full bodied, and smooth.
  5. Taste :  This was delicious, low astringency, full of orange, and citrus notes followed by a cool wash of vanilla, it taste as it smelt melted Solero, very decadent and i admit a little sickly (didn’t care though).

As an Englishman, and this can being “France” I didn’t want to say I like this one.. but I’m afraid I cant.. It was lovely, like Dom said about his Der Klassiker, I wouldn’t call this a beer. But right now… I really don’t care.

This was fantastic, but incredibly dangerous, 8% and no burn, not even a sniff of alcohol detected.. I may have a bad head in the morning!

Sam’s overall rating: 4.5/ 5.0
