Welcome back, fellow beer lovers!
The quarter-finals continue, and Funky Fluid are showing no signs of slowing down. This time, they’ve headed to Brazil for inspiration with Joga Bonito—Portuguese for “The Beautiful Game.” It’s a phrase forever associated with Brazilian football: skill, flair, confidence, and the kind of football that makes you want to applaud even if it’s your team on the receiving end.
Translating that philosophy into beer, Joga Bonito arrives as a 5.5% Mousse de Maracujá (Passion Fruit Mousse) Ice Cream Sour, promising plenty of tropical flair and enough creativity to embarrass a defender or two.
Today’s match report comes courtesy of Stuart. Normally happiest when he’s got a proper porter or traditional stout in his hands, this fruity sour represents something of a tactical change in formation. Can this Brazilian-inspired brew samba its way into Stu’s good books, or will it be substituted before full time?
Let’s hear the referee’s whistle and get the game underway.

Name: Joga Bonito, Mousse de Maracuja, Ice Cream Sour
- Brewery: Funky Fluid
- Aroma : Slight orange and a little lime like sourness
- Appearance : Thick intense orange with a poor thin white head.
- Body : Refreshing, low carbonation and no head retention.
- Taste : Very easy drinking, smooth orange smoothie, with a little bit of a sour bite.
If you’d like to drink a beer that you can easily mistake for orange juice, this is for you.
Definitely an oddball but very enjoyable, but potentially lethal if sessioned like orange juice!.
