The knockout rounds are where legends are made, and today’s fixture comes with a rivalry that’s worthy of the biggest stage.
Der Klassiker is the German nickname given to the heavyweight clash between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund; a match that almost always promises drama, goals, and the occasional bout of heartbreak.
Funky Fluid have taken that iconic footballing rivalry and transformed it into something rather different: GELATO Xtreme: Der Klassiker, an 8.0% Black Forest Cake Ice Cream Sour.
it’s promised to be bold, unapologetically and over the top, and, much like the fixture it’s named after, it’s certainly not going to end with a 0.
Name: Der Klassiker, Black Forest Cake Ice Cream Sour (8.0% ABV)
- Brewery: Funky Fluid
- Aroma : Cacao, and Cherry on the nose
- Appearance : A deep purple with what appears to be suspended macerated fruit. It reminds me of a purple Lava lamp.
- Body : Thicc (so much so you turn the glass and it didn’t move!), low carbonation, no Head, incredibly smooth
- Taste : It tastes exactly like it says on the tine, Blueberries, raspberries, cherry and Cacao, its the kind of drink that makes your eyebrows raise whilst you drink it.
First of all, controversial but.. its not a beer. It is however bloody lovely and very drinkable. It has a good level of flavour, and the 8% is dangerously masked by this.
