Hi there fellow beer lovers,
Welcome back to Into The Mild, where we continue digging through the darker corners of Britain in search of the illusive mild. This time around, Sam’s taking a look at Mind Palace from Black Lodge Brewery, a 5.0% Mild that already sounds like it might have a little more going on upstairs than your average session ale.

Name: Mind Palace
- Brewery: Black Lodge Brewery
- Aroma : Notes of Dark chocolate, Coffee and sweet Malts.
- Appearance : Very dark to black, with an off white mocha head which quickly receded to a thin foam film.
- Body : Medium bodied, with a good level of carbonation but poor head retention.
- Taste : Surprisingly bitter up front, it feels like your eating a 80% dark Cacao which lingers and morphs into a malty finish.
Very punch flavour to go with the 5% ABV, both of which are very punchy for a mild. Despite its bitterness its very morish but this one is definitely a modern Mild and in no way its traditional counterpart.
Our overall rating: 3.5/ 5.0
