Hi there fellow beer lovers,
When it comes to classic Yorkshire brewing, Theakston has been around the block a few times, and there’s something reassuring about seeing a mainstream brewery still keeping Mild on the roster.
At 3.4% ABV, Mild Smooth Dark Ale feels very much in keeping with the old-school roots of the style lower strength, easy drinking, and built for settling into comfortably over the course of an evening.
Sometimes that’s exactly what you want from a pint.

Name: Mild Smooth Dark Ale (3.4%)
- Brewery: Theakston
- Aroma : Scents of hops and roasted coffee.
- Appearance : Dark Ale with a closed white head when poured. Slightly Red/Brown when held into the light.
- Body : Smooth and creamy, good level of carbonation and good head retention.
- Taste : Malty, hints of roasted coffee and chocolate notes.
This is Mild in every sense of the term. its a lower ABV, and a low bitterness. I found this one particularly easy drinking. this is perfect for a swift pint or 2, and good pairing with savoury foods.
Our overall rating: 3.5/ 5.0
