Hi there fellow beer lovers,
Some beers are brewed to challenge the palate. Others are brewed because somebody, somewhere, looked at a dessert menu and thought, “That would probably work in a pint.” Enter Captain Toffee Stout from Jolly Sailor Brewery a beer that absolutely sounds like the result of a late-night conversation beginning with: “Go on then… put pudding in it.”
And if there’s one man more than willing to put a dessert-inspired stout from the Jolly Sailor brewery to the test, it’s our very own Selby representative, Lee!

Name: Captain Toffee Stout
- Brewery: Jolly Sailor Brewery
- Aroma : Strong notes of toffee and coffee.
- Appearance : Dark in appearance with a slightly off white to mocha coloured head when poured.
- Body : Thick, creamy stout, and a full bodied mouthfeel.
- Taste : Dark, Rich, and Malty with gorgeous notes of toffee.
Lovely tasting full bodied stout with gorgeous notes of toffee, full of flavour and creamy finish. This is one where I could easily have three or four despite the 4.6% ABV.
