Thornbridge x Stone Brewing – West Side Glory West Coast IPA (7.0% ABV)

Welcome back beer fans.

Another West Coast IPA and another collaboration beer, but this promises to be very good, coming from two of the best breweries around. No gimmicks just a classic brew, hopefully done with skill and panache.

  1. Name : West Side Glory
  2. Brewery: Thornbridge, Bakewell, Derbyshire
  3. Hops : Centennial, Citra, Cryo Idaho 7 and Sabro
  4. Grain : Barley and wheat
  5. Aroma : Citrus with a touch of pine
  6. Appearance : Golden with a slight haze and a white head
  7. Body : Medium bodied, well carbonated with some head retention
  8. Taste : Citrus fruity, tangerine followed with some malt. A long dry finish with a bitter bite and pine resin in the bittersweet aftertaste
  9. Dietary restrictions : Allergens highlighted

An impressive collaboration producing a superior West Coast IPA. As the name suggests this is glorious. The ABV seems about right, it certainly packs a punch. It captures a good level of bitterness and leaves the palate very, very dry.

Objective achieved, it’s a corker and one I will be buying again.
