Vibrant Forest – Metamorph (5.5% ABV)

Hi there fellow beer lovers,

Some beers have names that tell you exactly what you’re getting. Others leave a little more to the imagination. Metamorph from Vibrant Forest Brewery firmly falls into the latter category, sounding less like a beer and more like a villain or new form for The Power Rangers.

Name: Metamoprh

  1. Brewery: Vibrant Forest
  2. Aroma : Citrusy upfront with a cheeky bit of malt biscuit towards the end
  3. Appearance : Cloudy golden colour, with a closed white head when poured
  4. Body : Medium bodied, a good level of carbonation but poor head retention.
  5. Taste : Surprisingly orangey in flavour with a good level of hoppy backing that makes your mouth water. A very morish and thirst quenching mouthful.

This was a very enjoyable beer from Vibrant Forest and one that disappeared from the glass far quicker than I was expecting. The combination of bright citrus notes and a solid hoppy backbone makes for a wonderfully refreshing pint, while that orange-like character gives it just enough individuality to stand out from the crowd.

It’s not trying to reinvent the wheel, but when a beer is this easy to drink, it doesn’t need to.
