World Cup Beers 2026 – Bini Brew Co : Over the Bar, Session IPA (4.3% ABV)

Welcome back, fellow beer lovers!

With the tournament gathering pace, it’s not just the footballers chasing glory. Breweries around the world have been getting into the spirit too, releasing beers inspired by the beautiful game and giving us plenty to cheer about between kick-offs.

Today’s contender comes from Bini Brew Co, whose limited release Over the Bar is brewed with summer evenings and match days firmly in mind. At a sensible, session-friendly ABV, it’s the sort of beer that promises to stay in the game from the first whistle to the final score, whether you’re celebrating a last-minute winner or wondering how your striker managed to miss an open goal.

The marketing certainly talks a good game—but can it deliver where it matters most?

Time to step up to the spot and find out.

Name: Over the Bar

  1. Brewery:  Bini Brew Co
  2. Aroma : Hoppy on the nose with a cheeky bit of fruitiness at the back
  3. Appearance :  Pours a hazed mid to dark pale with a decent white closed head.
  4. Body : Medium to light bodied, okay level of carbonation, with decent head retention.
  5. Taste :  Now this one was very fresh, and easy drinking, nice wash of citrus and stone fruits followed by an amply mouthful of hop.

For a lower ABV beer, it punches well above its weight. The citrus and stone fruit notes keep it bright and refreshing, while the healthy hop character gives it enough backbone to stop it feeling thin or forgettable. It’s the sort of pint you finish, immediately glance back at the bar, and think;

“Go on then, just one more.”

The only real disappointment? It’s a limited release. That’s a crying shame because Bini Brew Co have absolutely hit the target with this one. Here’s hoping they bring it back for another season, because I’d happily queue up for a rematch.
